Preparing Our Mothers For Life Outside Mary’s Home

Our programs are designed to help residents get back on their feet so when they are ready to be out on their own again, they can face the world as stronger, more independent women. Many of our programs and services take place on site. Others are located off-site at locations throughout the Treasure Coast.

PARENTING SKILLS

Parenting Class

Our residents want to be good parents, but they may not have the skills or the examples in their own life for good parenting. Our parenting classes offer them a variety of valuable parenting techniques that will benefit them and their babies.

Breastfeeding Class

Breastfeeding is good for the health of the baby and for the strong bonds it forms between mother and child. With the help of skilled professionals, this class offers mothers-to-be the opportunity to learn about the benefits of breastfeeding.

Baby Basics

Babies don't come with an instruction manual, but our program on Baby Basics provides easy-to-read informative materials and helpful instruction by the staff of the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition Prenatal Outreach Center.

LIFE SKILLS

Goal Planning

Each resident meets weekly with Mary's Home staff to set goals and develop a plan to achieve them. During these meetings, residents discuss progress that's being made toward completion of their goals, which goals have been reached, and how they can achieve goals not yet realized.

Financial Literacy

Through our banking and finance classes, residents learn basic financial literacy including how to open up a bank account, how to manage money, how to live within a budget and other important financial management skills.

Credit Counseling

The Credit Counseling program helps residents understand the importance of creating and maintaining good credit and how to repair bad credit.

BrightCourse (Online training program)

Through the BrightCourse curriculum, our residents are taught how to make good decisions in pregnancy and parenting.

CPR Classes

Through the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) program, our mothers have the opportunity to become Adult/Infant/Child CPR certified.

COUNSELING

Women's Support Groups

Faith-based support groups are held on site for our residents so they can have open discussions with each other on a weekly basis.

Individual Counseling

Mary's Home partners with a licensed social worker as well as local mental health agencies to provide residents with mental health counseling as needed.

HEALTH & NUTRITION

Grocery Shopping & Meal Planning

We also teach our mothers how to plan meals and grocery shop for nutritious foods all within a budget.

PERSONAL
GROWTH

Learning More About Yourself and Your God

Every week residents come together to discuss passages from the Holy Bible to advance their personal growth and develop their faith-based life.

JOB
READINESS

Job Readiness and Resume Preparation

Through our Job Readiness and Resume Preparation programs, Mary's Home residents learn how to create and improve their resumes, prepare for interviews and learn a variety of basic job skills.
